    I just had my post op appointment today from lumpectomies. I had 4 areas + found of lcis and 1 dcis..... MD said it was extensive. My decision is to have a BMX with diep flap. I just found out Hartford Hospital does not perform them.... Just great!!! Can anyone suggest a wonderful plastics MD in CT who would perform a diep ? I would travel for a super surgeon.... Just wanted to check close to home first.... Have 3 little ones at home:) thanks for any ideas ladies!!!

    Robin, sorry no one has responded.  And sorry too that your lumpectomies found more than expected.  I'd suggest that you may want to repost your question in the Reconstruction Forum on this board.  For the most part it's only DCIS women who are reading this forum whereas in the Reconstruction Forum you'll get the attention of anyone who's having reconstruction, whatever their diagnosis.  I'd sure you'll get some suggestions from the women there. There are lots of women there who've had experience with DIEPs at NOLA (New Orleans); if nothing is available locally and you are willing to travel, that's the best known center for this type of reconstruction.

    Robin- I had umx with Diep last January, I had to switch Dr's and hospitals also. I went to Dr. Au at Yale for PS and Dr. Chagpar (Yale also) for breast surgeon. LOVE THEM!!



    I am very happy with everything and highly recommend them! Happy to answer any questions.

    Robin - I actually can! Dr. Stephano Fusi is an extremely highly regarded diep plastic surgeon. While awaiting genetic test results, I actually had an appointment with him because I knew I wanted to have diep if possible if I had a mx or bmx (genetic test results were favorable and I opted for a lump. and rads instead).

    Be forewarned, he is considered among the BEST in CT and his waiting room was packed. He is compassionate and skilled, and was fine working with my BS at Yale. His office is in Gilford, he has privileges at several hospitals, I believe, if you are not near Yale.
