Was soooo looking forward to my 2-year anniversary

Jan 2011.  I forced my OBGYN to order an ultrasound on a suspicious lump back then, thank goodness, because she felt it and told me it was nothing to worry about.  Plus, my dense breast tissue made my tumor invisible on a mammo.

Two years later, and I'm considering trying to get pregnant (I will be 40 in September, it's now or never...), and both my surgeon and my onc keep only ordering mammos for me.  Why on earth do they think a problem will show up on a mammo now, when the first didn't?  So I begged and pleaded, and got my onc to order an MRI.

Be careful what you wish for.

They called yesterday to tell me there is a BIRAD 4 suspicious mass (6mmx6mm) in the same breast as my original Dx.  Have to get a biopsy, and of course they don't have any openings until 10 days from now.

I feel like I'm being punished.  Very depressing.

Hang in there. It suspicious but not confirmed, and they are especialy careful with diagnosing BC patients.  I will be hoping along with you that it is nothing and that nothing keeps you from having that baby you want. Sending lots of good wishes and prayers.

JenMac - Try to be glad that you were proactive in managing your follow-up. Hopefully, this lesion will be benign!!! If not, better to find out before pregnancy then during pregnancy. Don't dispair about not being able to have a child yet either. The average age of women delivering at the hospital where I work is 42 yo! And if that's the average, many have to be older then that. Fingers and toes crossed for a benign biopsy!
