Pink phlegm and blood clot

So I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with a pulmonary Doctor. This mornig I had so much mucus I coughed up. It was pinkish in color. I was scared. I have been hacking up these 'mucus plugs', (sorry to be so gross), off and on since last February 2012, that have blood in them. Sometimes feels like they block my airway. Recently started getting worse since early November 2012. In any case, back to this morning, I am coughing up now this pink tinged color mucus, followed by more pink mucus along with a small blood clot, dark red. So, yes I am so feeling this is not good. Is this something of a lung mets? I am wondering what else it might be. I have been on several rounds of different antibiotics, no relief. Any thoughts on what the Dr. might suggest in the way of testing. My recent lung x-ray was clear.

You may ask doctor for a sputum cultere and SENSETIVITY testing which will show growth of any bacteria or virus and which antibiotic it would respond to .it will also show blood invlolvement in sputum if any

I met with my Pulmonary Dr. today.  I asked about a PET Scan, she said not at this point. She gave me a script for a CT Scan of Sinuses and Chest-(high resolution?). She said no contrast, she does not need contrast. After I have the test she wants to see me back in her office. So I have CT Scan next Thursday the 24th and have to wait until Monday Feb 4th to see her. Ugh.

I did Carboplatin and Taxotere x 4. Cannot have Herceptin due to some heart damage from Adryomicin for my AML, (leukemia 1981 w/total body radiation and Bone marrow transplant).
