heartburn Herceptin over

Options

Alrighty, so my year of Herceptin was over in November.  Since then, I feel like a creaky old lady.  I've been taking Tamoxifen all along, but it almost feels as if suddenly I'm feeling SEs from Tamoxifen that I never felt before.  And, I have the worst heartburn.  I actually hurled out the car door today after trying to eat a Subway sandwich.  I don't have an appt. with my onc until April, and I feel like I'm just being paranoid, but I also know that at that appt. in April, they won't do any scans or anything--unless I have symptoms of recurrence.

So, anyone else experience these sorts of changes after Herceptin stopped?  Am I just nervous, or do you think this is something to bother my onc about?

It took me a couple of months after Herceptin ended to start to feel normal again. I'm not on antihormonals so others will have to chime in about that.

Thanks for your reply.  I didn't have this the whole year on Herceptin.  Weird.  I just bought some Tums!  Fingers crossed!

    Hi Profbee,

I hope you're feeling better now, I see that was a few weeks ago.  If you aren't, what about the possibility that you're experiencing anxiety related to stopping Herceptin?  I know I had some anxiety about it although I wasn't really cognizant of it at the time...I was just experiencing all sorts of symptoms that seemed to point to bad news.  Anxiety can cause all the symptoms you mentioned, or a heightened awareness of symptoms you were having before...

I definitely got achier later in my year of treatment, too - by the time I was done I was feeling like I'd been hit by a bus some days!

Anyway, I hope you're feeling better.
