WHO HAS HAD RECURRENCE AFTER BEING MORE THAN 10 YEARS OUT?  WHAT TREATMENT DID YOU GET?

WAS IT A LOCAL RECURRENCE, CHEST WALL, NEW PRIMARY?

DID YOU HAVE CHEMO AND RADIATION?

I had a chest wall recurrence 8 years after my original diagnosis of ER+ breast cancer. I had a left side mastectomy, chemotherapy - AC, implant reconstruction, and five years of Tamoxifen. I was treated for the chest wall recurrence with a lumpectomy, chemotherapy - taxatere, radiation, and Arimadex for as long as I'm cancer free.

The docs believe it was a recurrence because the tumor was under the skin, not in breast tissue, on my left chest wall ( same side as original cancer), same grade, and ER+.

    I hope this is helpful.

I had cancer 16 years ago. You can see my history below. It was a different type cancer-same breast. I start chemo tomorrow for my TN cancer. I will be getting a different cocktail, so I don't knoe what to expect. Very discouraging.

Another one with CMF. I had that in 2000.  It was good chemo. Every time I see a long term survivor she has had CMF and they dont use it much now. I keep saying that chemo is good.
