Sudden high blood pressure with taxol

I just had my 7th taxol infusion. My bp was a little high when I went into my appointment with my oncologist but not enough to concern him (134/90). During the infusion my bp fluctuated anywhere from 127/75 to 159/104. Now I am home and my bp is 160/100. This is approx 10 hours after the infusion. I'm scared this may become an issue that will interfere with my treatment. I have had hypertension in the past which was well controlled with diet and exercise along with alternative approaches like yoga and acupuncture. I have also had serious problems with antihypertensive meds that either just plain didn't work or made me sick to the point of being nonfunctional or both. I will be calling my onco tomorrow to talk with him, but I'm wondering if anyone here has had this problem and what they did to solve it so their treatment could continue.

Kimber.......just guessing, but I would say it is due to the steroids you are given with taxol. Hoping it revolves soon for you.

I realize that I am replying to this years after the original post was made. And I'm sure that Kimber has taken care of the problem by now— but someone else might be searching for “high blood pressure and chemotherapy" so I decided to reply. During the Taxol portion of my AC-T treatment my blood pressure started rising. I said it had to be the Taxol because I'd never had BP problems before. The oncologist just said that I needed to relax (she even told me to meditate). Finally, as things worsened (and meditation wasn't helping) she prescribed lisinopril and then referred me to my primary care physician for ongoing treatment. Now it is two years later, and I still have issues, and I am still on lisinopril. Tonight I was reading up on peripheral neuropathy,which I have because of my treatment, and it said that high blood pressure can be caused by that! Then a Google search on “Taxol and high blood pressure" showed that yes, developing high blood pressure is a rare but possible side effect. Wish the onc had acknowledged that instead of blaming me for not being “relaxed"!
