Sorry to be dim but are these one and the same? 

I had tumour markers within normal range just before diagnosis so am hoping this means my lymph nodes did their job ...................

Tumor markers measure circulating tumor cells and other types of proteins/cells. You can read more on the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Blood Marker Tests.
