Is TN the worst and fastest moving breast cancer?

Hi all,

I know that only about 15% of the breast cancers are TN, what I do not know is it is the worst of them to try to battle.  Because it is a fast moving cancer it seems it much be.  That really does scare the hell out of me.  I have no idea how long I have had this.  All I know is I had a lump in breast one month and then they found another in my lung the next month.  I have them both removed and waiting for healing then treatment.  Does anyone know more about this kind of cancer, I cannot read stuff on the internet, it is just to depressing.  I want to believe there is hope for me and others with this type.  Maybe it is the same as the others and I just don't know it.  I know everyone is different and everybody will respond differently to treatments, I guess it is just all so overwhelming!  I am glad to have found this site, it really helps me from freaking out.  I mean it is so wierd, I have been told I have stage IV cancer and other than the operations and recovery, I don't feel any different, it's like how could this be true.  If I had not found the lump I would be living my life feeling just fine, I don't know for how long but now my life has changed all around and I really want to go back to not knowing.  Sad but true.  Take care all,  Debbie

There is just one book out on the subject and it is comprehensive and not negative. I got it from Amazon. I'm sitting in chemo now so I can't be sure this is the title: "Surviving triple negative breast cancer". Just go to Amazon and enter the search words "triple negative breast cancer" and it should come up.



I agree the news articles are depressing. I much prefer this book written by a TNBC survivor who is also a journalist. Well-written and well researched.



We will survive this.

Debbie - I am so sorry your cancer spread to your lungs. I know it is very frightening and can put you into a tail spin. If the stress gets too unmanageable, perhaps you can ask for medication. I take zoloft and Ativan.



As I'm sure your onco has told you, when we get to stage IV, it is no longer considered curable. It's

treated like a chronic disease. Do you know what drugs you will be taking? I take gemzar and carboplatin. Feel free to PM me, if you someone to talk to. I hope you had clean margins and that the chemo knocks it back.

Hi there, I can understand how frightening this may be for you. Not sure if this is helpful yet I am doing great! Finished all treatment in mid October. Had chemo first, then surgery, then radiation.I have been going to breast cancer exercise classes, yoga, and doing meditation. I am in Canada, so not sure how trt differs. I am on a clinical trial drug now, though unsure if it is the real thing or not. So far, no more cancer, I tend to think positive lots.  

As far as internet info goes, I tend to rely on info from my oncologist and surgeon. There is so much out there that made my head spin! Though it is best to ask them.
