Organic apple cider vinegar with "mother" - a miracle tonic?
A friend told me this is a miracle, he's been taking it a few times a day for a few months and his metabolism is better, he feels more alert, skin looks better, has more energy overall! Can anyone testify out there? I just bought a bottle of Braggs for $3 at the grocery store, you only use a teaspoon 2 or 3 times a day so I figured it was worth a try. Plus I am one of those weird people who actually like the flavor of vinegar! I mixed a teaspoon in cold water with a little agave nectar to sweeten it and just took it down. Thanks for any feedback!!

Carpediem, I don't believe that any one substance is a miracle that way. However, there is evidence to suggest that it is good to have pickled things in your diet. There is also evidence to suggest that having a healthy flora in your intestines may be helpful against various cancers and may help keep unruly hormones in check. So, natural vinegar might play a role in that.

I originally started taking this in 2009 for nausea. It worked very well for that and also had the added benefit of really great skin. For me that was good enough reason to continue. If it helps my skin, it made sense to me that it was doing some good on the inside. Despise the taste though, so I mix in honey. Still trying to figure out if it helped my kidney function. Prior to 2009, my kidney function was questionable due to years of a bisphosphonate. After a year of the ACV it greatly improved. Could be the ACV, could be a coincidence. No way of knowing really unless I stop using it, and I don't want to.

i know someone who uses it with honey for her skin.

I know that this can be used for blood pressure. I had high blood pressure and used this for 4 months and it dropped down to normal.

Thanks, Gracie, Momine and dogsnjogs! I am going to stick with it. Cbear, my pressure was higher than normal in my last doctors visit, not sure why since I have a pretty good diet and exercise, nothing crazy, but not sedentary. I've seen with menopause how the weight is starting to pile on so that could be why, as well. Ugh. Time to get some of this stuff under control and not just settle in and accept it.
Thanks again to all of you!! -
Vinegar update- it really works! First of all, if I take it 30 mins before meals I am much less hungry. I've lost 2 pounds in a week! Also, my skin looks better, I can't explain it, even my hairdresser who has seen me once a month for 5 years said something about me looked different and I looked great, weird! I have much more energy in the afternoon. I also noticed that if I am dehydrated it immediately makes me feel better ( must be the potassium) - so I am hooked!
I think I will add one healthy new thing into my diet every week and start some new habits. Not sure what is next- any suggestions? -
Glad to hear you've noticed some benefits!

Thanks, Gracie :-)

That's awesome! My mom and dad use it for gerd and it works. Been reading about the miraculous benefits of this for years. I've tried a few times but I CAN'T STAND the taste! And nothing seems to be able to mask it. Maybe I will give it another try.

Mix it with some honey and room temp filtered water and try using a straw. I noticed this morning that after months of having trouble putting my rings on they slipped right on. I am much less "puffy" or bloated. I am hooked!
