want to run away...
Anyone actually done this? Just taken a vacation from your life? I want away from my job, my marital problems, all of it. I want to rent a particular cottage on a particular beach and go there by myself for a few weeks. Or maybe just with my youngest son, who causes me no trouble. I guess it would be grossly irresponsible for me to do this. But I live with so much stress, all the time. I try not to let it get me down, but there's so much crap a person can be handed before they break. I can't even make an appointment with my therapist because I have no days left to take off from work

Hi Minxie
so sorry to hear you're feeling like this. I've not been in your exact situation but do remember times in my life when I've felt unable to cope with stuff going on in my life and felt like running away. Marital/relationship problems make it a whole lot worse as you feel so out of control - it's so hard dealing with that as well as dealing with your health and the worries that go along with that. Just wanted to send you some gentle hugs and let you know you're not on your own. I'm sure you'll get more replies soon from others who completely understand where you are coming from and can sympathise with you.
Hugs

hugs your way..sorry you are going through so much...I don't think a weekend away is such a bad thing. If you don't have much time off maybe you can swing a weekend. This might sound lame, but I write stuff down (and then burn it, or shred), it gives me a since of relief writing it out and seeing it disappear. Hang in there

Minxie, you're not alone. Life is hard and sometimes it's just overwhelming. A weekend away at the cottage by yourself is not a bad thing and certainly not irresponsible. You have to take care of yourself to be able to take care of your kids right? Everyone needs some alone time once in a while. Take the weekend at the cottage, decompress and recharge. Hugs to you and I hope you take some "me" time. Feel better soon.

I too wish I could run away from this nightmare!! My hubby is great and does try to take my mind off of things. We try to get away a couple times a year, even if it's just a couple hours away and rent a cabin with a hot tub and lots of hiking!! In fact we are purchasing a hot tub as a mxas gift for each other. It is very important to get away from the stess. I even work with a hypnotherapist once or twice a week out of my home just so I can get an hour of relaxation.
