Couple of weeks ago, I had my annual scans, mammo, ultra-sounds.......Ok, well

BUT, there was a spot on my liver, or a cyst..?? The radiologist doc, said it looks b9, but with my history of bc she wanted me to have a CT SCAN. ( You never know....)

Well, yesterday I had my regular 6 month appt. with my doc, and the liver spot came back

" Inconclusive" from the CT Scan. WHAT ???

Now he is ordering a MRI do find out. ( Wants to talk to a liver specialist)

I know it is possible to have this from infection, or Tamoxofin, or , or, or.....But geee, I cant relax and get scared. I do feel great, no symptoms at all, but this " Inconclusive" is not leaving my mind.

Any thoughts would be appriciated.

Our livers are basically a filtering system for our bodies. Lots of things can show uo like cysts or hemangiomas( blood ).  I think your docs are being very cautious with recomending more testing. The good thing is it appears to be B9 on earlier tests, chances are it is nothing of concern. Lots of hugs, and positive thoughts!

    Carol,

Radiologists are notoriously accurate in determining whether a liver/kidney/lung lesion is b9 or not. When I was rotating in Radiology at my medical school, I saw radiologists using the various so called "windows" such as density to determine whether a lesion is b9 or malignant. 99/100 times their prediction would match the biopsy findings. If your radiologist said that the lesion looks b9, I would trust him/her and move on.

    Carol,

I had CT scan that showed 2 spots on liver (5mm and 3mm) that were too small to know what they were. Could have been anything even a shadow MO told me. Scanned 4 months later and they were gone. Like lkc said our livers filter EVERYTHING so could be anything.

Good luck with the MRI and keep us updated.

I'm sorry you are having this scare Carol.  I'm sure he is being cautious and thank God for that :)  I have a liver spot as well and understand the scare.  I hope it turns out to be nothing and let us know how it goes.

OK, I just  was told they think I have a Hemangiomas,  they think B9,  maybe had my whole life...But, because I have had cancer they will re scan me in 3 months to make sure it has not grown...if it does I assume biopsy..........I am a little scared myself,,,We need to be thankful they watch us so close.  I guess.     Jenny.......what kind of spot is on your liver???/

    love and hugs

Hi Carol,  Any news?  When is your MRI?  My fingers are crossed that they can tell you it's nothing so you can move on.  Warm hugs,  G.
