DIEP 2013

Oh Bailey, me and the drains are still together. They both were in the 50's for the first time yesterday. It's four and a half weeks. Maybe it won't be much longer.
Jeannie, I get it. The breathing thing was awful for me. The first day after surgery, I got 500. By the time I went home, 2500. Not great, but they let me go. -
Goldie....sounds like you've done amazingly well already! Muscle gain does affect weight, so measuring would be a better guide for you. You could probably still lose the weight you want by eating REALLY CLEAN, if you are still working out, but make sure you're aiming for a healthy BMI! Health rules over every goal, in my book!!!!
-
Nihahi, when you say eating clean, what exactly do you mean? No cheating with empty calories? Organic?
No baby yet...but my DIL called to say they're enroute to hospital to check out "leaking" so maybe ruptured membranes. If she wants the same birthday as the royal prince we need to kick it into high gear!
Frye platforms today with long jeans. I told my husby I saved him money buying such high shoes; no need to pay for hemming the pants. Nice bike ride this afternoon--I saw a HUGE tarantula just moseying along. And a small hawk.
Baby watch 2013! Let's see, grandma's bag--lemon drops, cranberry juice (DIL loves the stuff), water jug, lotion, camera, computer--what else do I need???
-
Jeannie, just remember, coughing won't disrupt anything or pull any stitches loose. It hurts but it won't hurt anything. Get some pain meds on board, take a deep breath, and hack it up, sister. YOU CAN DO IT! TOWANDA!
-
Katie, don't forget extra batteries and/or power cords for the camera and computer. Chapstick!
Good luck! -
Nihahi, I think you meant the post about healthy eating and weight loss for Kuka, but it's nice to know you are thinking of me.
Kuka, I don't know what test they will do till I see my MO, but we know it won't be an MRI. It's because of the magnets in the expanders. If it was just metal they could do it because abdomen is pretty far from breasts, but the magnets will actually pull right out of your body....geez!!!!!
-
oops...senior moment re: clean eating (sbe....tell your DIL to get a move on, she only has a couple hours to share this birth-day with the little prince....and ME...yep turned 63 today!). Put some comfy shoes in that granny bag, and coins for the coffee machine.
anyhoo....clean eating to me means, cutting out as much white sugar, white bread, refined carbs as possible. Eating complex carbs, lean protein and (sorry kuka....veggies and fresh fruit). Also means watching portion sizes. I'm no saint though, and I need that little bit of sugar in my morning coffee.
goldie....fyi..always thinking of you!
jeannie....hold a pillow or folded blanket snug against your tummy....helps you feel more "safe".
-
sigh....old brain strikes again...
jeannie....safer when coughing is what I meant to say!!!!!
-
Happy Birthday Nihahi!!!
-
thanks ssla....tottering off to bed soon!
-
I'm off to bed too. If I can't sleep....again...I'll be back :-)
-
Happy birthday nihahi!!! Thanks for the tips on the weight loss. The fruit I will eat, the veggies not so mych😜
-
kuka....you would drive a mother to distraction with your veggie phobia!!! Thanks for the birthday wish...truly, I am now signing off and going to bed.!
Movie....thinking of you! ((((((X))))))
-
Kuka im with ya on the no veggie thing and I will only have my fruit in a smoothie form lol so I try to be good and add a little raw spinach or kale in and blend the crap out of it until its no longer visible
Nihahi happy birthday !!!! -
Nihahi...WAKE UP, GIRL, I'm yelling all the way from California--HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
My son and his lovely wife are heading home. False alarm. Baby is still floating happily in her little bag, while the rest of us are frantically shredding newspapers and acting like maniacs.
Goldie, you're in my prayers tonight. Calming, peaceful wishes coming your way.
-
sheesh sbe....how's an old lady supposed to get to sleep!....although the thunder and lightning might have something to do with it too! This little "expected one" is showing a whole new side of you...shredding newspapers??????? Is this a SoCal version of boiling water????
faith...not you too....what the heck do you and kuka eat....all meat, all the time?????? Talk about carnivores!
I guess I'm the only one up tonight????

Hi everybody,
Was a little busy over the weekend, and started my week of work today - thanks for asking. Bailey. I read every post, but have to go to bed shortly. So will just quickly comment on a few posts.
Goldie, so very sorry to hear DIEP has been postponed. Hope you get sorted out soon so that you can know what you're dealing with. Uncertainty sucks! I hope it turns to be nothing serious at all.
Jeannie, hope you get out of hospital soon. Enjoyed your morphined-fuelled fantasies - LOL!
Damiana and others dealing with boob and other holes, may they heal fast and close soon. Can't be pleasant to struggle with that daily.
sbelizabeth, the baby is probably not far from coming. I went 3 weeks overtime with my first child. Her hair was below her ears - honest! July 25 is my birthday too. Looking forward to joyously celebrate - no more sadness because I'm getting older, just too grateful to have lived another year. Age is just a number anyway.
Nihahi, already congratulated you on the other thread, but happy birthday again. You are one of the mainstays of this thread - we love you girl!
Best wishes to all you other girls. You are such a nice group of people, and I love to read your posts. Have to go to bed now. Tomorrow I have to duel with that work computer again - can only be better than today - LOL!
-
Nihahi, 'shredding newspapers' - do you think she may be nesting? LOL!
-
hahahha......go to bed, working girl! I guess you can have sbe's grandbaby for a birthday present, since I got the new prince
-
Nihahi, not fair you getting a prince! Just kidding - sbe's little prince/princess will be way good enough for me!
-
omg......GO TO BED!
-
Just woke up from a nap :-) Happy bday, nihahi. July 22 is a great day.
-
Going to bed now.
-
Robin - Hi there. I think there was a collective sigh of relief from coast to coast when you posted. It's nice to hear from you.
Jeannie - You HAVE courage. Even if you don't feel it, it's apparent to everyone else. Maybe you just need a little warrior energy to get you through the next bit. I hope you'll be heading home soon.
Keep doing what Nihahi said, and 'blow the balls of that inspirometer thingy'
Nihahi - Happy belated birthday! I hope you celebrated begin alive, and well, and just such an wonderful person. -
Good Morning!
Happy birthday, Nihahi! Kuka, so with you on the veggies. I finally got some green vibrance powder to put in my smoothies. On that clean eating thing - most folks leave out soy and soy related products, too. Light on dairy - I only do fage yogurt on top of berries so I get some fat, protein and carbs together. You can do the next 6 pounds before Stage 2, but remember the inches do count more.
Robyn - Welcome back. Good to hear from you.
I think SBE has this baby totally confused with puppies.
-
Good morning ladies! I see I missed all the fun last night! But it's ok because I slept like a baby! I was even able to hear the alarm clock this morning!! I usually wake up before it goes off:)
Sbe, you better watch that grand baby before one liefie or nihahi take off with it!
I have six kids to watch this week. Why do I do this to myself? I cannot say no when somebody asks for help, but crap!! I'm already exhausted and its only Tuesday! -
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.....here's to an awesome year for each and everyone of us.
psst...a little birdie told me it was TammyT's bday yesterday too! HAPPY BELATED DAY TAMMY!!!!!!
marty....I'm thinking sbelizabeth is more like a momma hamster???? oh..I know.....she's padding a bike trailer for the little one!!!!!!!!!
Jeannie....push that old air out.....expand those lower ribs out sideways...lift those collarbones...breathe in...cough out that potential crap....relax...repeat.....another step closer to the front door!
goldie....one day at a time...thinking of you
dyvgrl.....same thoughts for you....hope se's are easing a bit????
Man....little sleep last night thanks to Mother nature...leaving soon for another Red Cross shift....gonna be a looong day! Gotta end here and head out.....wishing good days to everyone!!!!
-
Thanks, nihahi. To all who are having would healing complications, that was me a few months back. Yesterday, I played my first team tennis match (won one set, but lost the match) and felt great. That will be you a couple of months down the road (maybe not tennis, but something else you enjoy).
-
Good morning Diepster ladies......I will just start by saying I am reading, and echo the sentiments of everyone re: ROBIN, GOLDIE, DAMIANA, DVYGIRL, JEANNIE, (and anyone else I have neglected to mention)......thinking of you all, as you deal with your own particular set of ups and downs.....and sending special Movie (((HUGS))).
A very happy and BELATED birthday wish going out to BOTH Nihahi AND TammyT........I hope you both enjoyed your special day......
Today is S-Day for DD........surgeon is hopeful that her uterus can be saved, but will reserve final judgment until he is actually in there......in the meantime, I am waiting, waiting, waiting (kind of like Sbe, except there is no new baby at the end for me.....)
SX is at approx. 12:30 MST and at this moment DD is "Fleeting" her lower GI tract in case they have to do a bowel re-section due to endo infiltration......are we having fun yet???
Wishing each of you a good day......and here's to brand-new grandbabies!!!.....
Love to all!
Namaste and God Bless-Jackie -
Hope everything goes smoothly with surgery for your DD#4, Movie.
