I just got prelim test results back and they are positive for IDC - I had two biopsies done in left breast - since masses were so lateral wondering if one was a node? But both were positive. I also saw from pics taken (I am an ultrasound tech) that the axillary nodes were huge, can feel one of them. I'm 32 and have a 5 month old baby girl and am so.... I don't know. I'm worried cuz of the nodes. And I can't get an appt until 12/11 for a doctor. What if it is aggressive? I am lost. Just want to get the show on the road and a plan of attack set.

    Njlane,

So sorry for your diagnosis.  I will pray for you.  I know the minute I was diagnosed I wanted the tumor removed, but I had to be patient and wait for a month before I had a lumpectomy.

Hi hon. I was diagnosed sept 11, 2008 with idc. Removed right breast and was positive in 9 of 13 lymph nodes. I had to wait about 2 1/2 weeks after diagnosis to see my oncologist. Its hard to live with cancer especially when first diagnosed. And your head is spinning from everything thrown at you. The only advise i can give you is prayer. The Lord carried me for months after diagnosis. They will move fast once you get in to be seen

Hello...and OF COURSE you're worried!  But, you know that once your plan is in place and rockin and rollin' you'll be better settled.  That 5 month old little baby gem will provide you with strength you never thought possible!!  That baby will give you every reason you will need at any moment that you need a reason!  And, you've entered a world of sisterhood that will be here for you every step of the way.  I was diagnosed at 39...nasty and super aggressive...traveled all over the place...and I was scared out of my friggin' mind...and then, it's just like I did what I needed to do and you just move forward...once the plan gets underway, it does feel better.

    ((((hugs))))

Njlane - I'm sorry about your diagnosis.  I know this isn't the place where you want to be posting but since it has happened at least you've found the right place for support, more information, etc.

I had no idea until recently that I had a palpable lymph axillary lymph node!

I saw it mentioned on the pathology report following surgery (bilateral mastecomy - one side cancer/one side prophylactic).

Anyway, this palpable axillary node was news to me and I suppose they found it by feeling around during surgery.

Here's the part I want to pass along...

Despite being palpable, it was benign.

The pathology report shows "left axilla palpable lymph node - one benign lymph node (0/1)"

Now, I don't want to sugarcoat things because one of my two sentinel nodes did reveal a 1mm micromet but this palpable axillary lymph node was clear.

That's great news that your appointment got bumped up.  During the initial phases of the dx i had a real hard time looking at my kids....i was so scared.  The 1st few weeks are the hardest...it's data collection phase.  You will feel better once the plan is formed and you can start to execute on it.
