Sorry you're going through this. Yeah, other members have had the same concern. There was a recent thread here on how to get lower cost Rx. I just bumped up the tread so it's easier to find. Take care.

My chemo drugs were covered under my major medical portion of my insurance, not the prescription plan, so you shouldn't need all that many drugs - steroids, anti-nausea drugs, and that should be it, from what I remember.  I know that the Emend for anti-nausea was really expensive, but I think the manufacturer had an assistance program for people without insurance.  The rest of the drugs weren't that expensive.

Check the prices - the steroids should be really cheap - like check with the pharmacies that have the $4.00 generics kind of cheap - like a Walmart or if you're a member, check Costco.  The other anti-nausea drugs, maybe your mom's onc can work with her to figure out the least expensive, yet best working alternatives.

Mostlly everything else was provided by my hospital at the time of infusion - IV steroids, iv anti-nausea, iv benadryl.

Your out of pocket shouldn't be too bad...and maybe your onc or wherever you're having the chemo done, the social worker can help find resources.
