What to do?

Just diagnosed and wondering what "changes" do women make right now as they are going through surgery, and the process from the beginning.

specifically, is there something in diet that is best now to eat?   I feel that I have a healthy diet, gave up red meat 2 years ago, but perhaps there is something else to do.

In addition, does one keep walking or exercising throughout?

Anything else?

Thanks!

Paula, until other members post with their experiences, there is an extensive Nutrition section on the main Breastcancer.org site that can help you.

You'll also find info about Exercise at the site, including exercise during and after treatent, and how to stick to an exercise routine.

    Best wishes,

The best books I have read are Foods To Fight Cancer and The Anti Cancer:  A New Way of Life.  Both are very detailed and provide good information.  I try to follow what these books recommend as best as I can.  It's hard because the doctors don't seem to tell you much about diet.  You can get a free nutrition counseling session through the American Cancer Society.  I did it but it was too basic for me.  I have a background in health and it seemed focused on the very obvious basic good eating information I already knew.
