Ok sounds like we may be getting a plan together.... and I just did a quick search and Kelowna to Chicago is just under $600, which I dont think is too bad. Will piss DH off cos we've never been to Chicago and its on our long list of places to visit... ho hum, whatever !!
-
Scottie- I know I've been posting some pics of my nephew when he's come out of surgery and not looking the best. But I have to post this one from today.
Believe- I took alex his bracelet that you made for him and snapped this pic of him. You can see his bracelet right around the orange bracelet. He loved it! Thank you so much. It was the first smile I've gotten out of him in the last 2 weeks.
-
Yay....Tazzy.....can I join you on the table for a dance if this works out??? Mind you,
I'll need help getting on the table....💃 -
Chrisrenee, so sweet! What a sear face, and what a trooper your nephew is!
-
Meant dear face!
-
Chrisrenee....we must have posted simultaneously....lol....oh what a doll face!!!!...so happy to see him smiling and looking well.
-
So sweet, I'm glad he's doing well............
-
Chrisrenee, what a great picture and great smile.
Tazzy, what would it cost to fly from Kelowna to Hamilton or TO and do the road trip with me and Scottiee (and maybe Shianne) ....
Looking at hotels right now ..... Chicago and Iowa City --
-
Chrisrenne - wonderful pictures! So proud of you. Not sure I could walk, let alone run 7.5 miles. You ladies are amazing! Alex looks wonderful! Best photo yet. Love that smile. If his bracelet helped, I am so happy. I'm wearing a cross too, it reminds me to say a prayer for him and your family.
It sounds like your trip is coming together. Mcook, see what you started:-) At this point, my eyes are green with envy. I've only been to O'Hare so that doesn't count. Appoint someone to be in charge of photos. Can't wait to see the table dancing!
Shari - New York is still on the table. Get better quick. No dates yet but working on it.
We are leaving for Pacific Grove/Monterey on Friday. Just in case anyone will be close. We will be there for a week.
I'm available for all up coming pocket trips! I feel like the sun is shinning down on all of us. Make it a great week. -
There is a fairly new Marriott in Coralville, Iowa that is right off I-80 or come up to Cedar Rapids that is 20 minutes north. Lots of hotels there. Not sure your travel schedule but if you gals want to hang around Saturday I would host a bbq/pool party at my house. Otherwise I will come hang out wherever you decide to stay in Iowa.

Believe: YAY!
Jenjen; welcome
Girls I'm in for Iowa in July. where should I fly in to?
Chrisrenee; sounds like an amazing day.
I have to run, I just spent a half hour catching up reading from the weekend and now it's sleepy time already.
good night ladies!
-
I'm trying to catch up on reading everyone's posts, so many!
Jenjen, welcome!
Chrisrenee, your nephew is adorable! Still saying prayers!
Iatigger, count me in for July! I think having something like this to look forward to is just what I need!!! Been so down. At this point I just really really really need some sunshine!
Hugs to everyone!! I'll try to catch up more tomorrow! Nite, nite! -
Trying to catch up too but impossible. However I love the enthusiasm in so many posts. Believe, good to hear your news. Chrisrenee, loved the family photos and your nephew's too.
Iowa in July sounds interesting too though I don't think I can swing it. Now maybe is it was one of those west coast states....
Last fill tomorrow at 0800 and then Radiation Simulation Tuesday if all is well with PS.
-
Juneau, Not sure if you are coming straight to Iowa but if so, I would say fly into Cedar Rapids, then I could pick you up. We can ride down to meet and cheer on Mcook together.
SwgeeWi, that would be great if you could come over too.
Mcook, looks like you are going to have quite the cheer squad for your leg of the marathon! Better get those legs ready
-
I would like to come to Iowa, but it might depend on work schedule. Maybe some of us could split a car rental if we fly to the same airport? Mcook, I have a special request, if you are allowed and have time to do it. Could we see the wind farm? I have always wanted to see how they work. Are you allowed to take people there? Is it far from the race site?
-
Iowa sounds like a plan! I would love to join in. I might have a conflict with a trip my Parrot Head husband has planned that same weekend, but I don't think they've got their tickets yet, so maybe...
-
swgeewi-Thank you, he's a precious, precious boy.
Believe- a little birdy told me today is your BIRTHDAY! Happy, Happy birthday! Hope you have a great one!
-
Believe, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope you enjoy every moment!!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELIEVE!!!!!!!!
-
Chrisrenee he is soooo adorable! That smile brought tears to my eyes. And I can see by the sparkle in his eye that he will be just fine! Is that a steelers jersey? How is the rest of your family holding up?
-
Believe - happy birthday with many many more!
-
Busy weekend here!
Believe - wishing you a very Happy Birthday and a wonderful year ahead!
Chrisrenee - so nice to see a smile on your nephew's face
Marian - fingers crossed for PS visit today and I am believing that I will be in your pockets for your CT sim tomorrow. Progress!
Re: Iowa - I would love to have been able to go however we are invited to a wedding. I have also found out that my travel health insurance wouldn't cover me in U.S. if there were problems since I still have port and ongoing Herceptin treatments.
I am very happy to see that plans are working out though and I can't wait for pictures and stories
Have a good day everyone! -
Thank you for my Birthday wishes and graphics. Yes, I will celebrate each and everyone of them.
Marian - in your pockets with guiltless treats. -
Hey all!
I have been incommunicado for some time--no reason except being busy at the office and a litle time away. I have not read all of the posts I've missed, but I sure hope that everyone is doing well, surviving the rigors of everyday life post-treatment, and enjoying life.
I may not be here a lot, but I think of you all the time!
Much love,
Scorch
-
Scorchy-nice to see you!
Chris Renee- love the pics- the nephew is a real sweetie too-great smiles all around
Scottie I'm sure you will find someone to help you get up on that table; those iphone videos had best be running once youre up there since I can't join you all
Don't know much about your greek hubbies but I do know the word greek makes me hungry for a greek salad and spanakopita! YUM
Believe so Happy your scare was really a false scare!
Also especially for you Believe:

PS....I have spanikopita....every weekend..yes, Yum.....lol -
Believe, happy, happy birthday to you, and here's to many more to come! Cheers!!
Chrisrenee, best wishes to you and family. That little boy is truly adorable and huggable, if there is such a word.
Scorchy, so good to hear from you, and that you are doing well. We don't mind if you don't read the posts, as long as you keep checking in now and then. That's what's important. Best wishes!!!
Marian, hope all your visits go well too.
As for joining Mcook in Iowa, it will not work for me. Will still be recovering from DIEP surgery then, so it's a no go for me. Would really have loved to join you on your triumphant run, Mcook! Photos and reports about what mischief you all get into will have to suffice. Fortunately Scottiee will be there to keep some order and discipline - LOL. Good luck with that lot, Scottiee! Pack lots of headache pills . . .
2Fried, I'm exactly like you. A single word can set off my appetite big time - lol!
-
marian - good luck with your last fill. Hopefully you will be able to have your ct imaging on Tuesday. Perhaps I will see you there. I have my FINAL radiation treatment tomorrow at 8 am. I am so glad to be finished!!! Rads are not bad at all - the time goes really quickly and the technicians are amazing - so kind and compassionate!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELIEVE! Hope you are having a great day.
Scorchy good to hear from you and that you are enjoying life. Just make sure you don't forget to say hi once in a while.
To anyone who won't be able to make it to Iowa I promise to take pics of Tazzy and Scottie up on the tables -
Believe, Oh Happy Day!
