So went in the begining of Oct I was diagnosed with DCIS, chose to have a bilateral masectomy because I also have a genetic disorder called NF1 that opens me up to cancers, and I have a DD with HUGE health care needs that I have been busy taking care of while she is in chemo.  So pathology report came back with the idc being in both breasts.  They didn't expect it, didn't take any nodes in left because I have a benign tumor in that arm pit (really want to avoid being in there at ALL costs) and didn't expect any of this in the right as there was no indication of anything in that breast and it was 1.7cm...  It is hormone positive--we got clear margins, skin and nipple were clear...just stressed and go from being ok to crying thinking Im not going to be around to see my babies grow up! I realize that we have the cancer out...but how do I accept this?? The BS today said we have time to come up with a plan...meet the oncologist on Tuesday...she was thinking maybe we should go for a Onco test on the tumor....

I would go for the Onco test -(insurance should pay) it allowed me to decide with the MO the best course of treatment.  I too had DCIS but came back as IDC after the pathology - UMX.

What stage is the IDC or is it possible to know yet?
