Lg tumor >6cm found post lumpectomy -anyone else? just heard

I was diagnosed 10/18/12 and everyone guessed my lump to be 2cm approx. Surprise!! At least my nodes (2 taken) were negative but they want to do a bunch of CT scans now to check for mets. Any advise? Anyone with good outcome in my situation? I am 52 and my kids and my parents, sisters and brothers are all so worried. I don't know what to tell them. The Dr. said it's atleast 6.7cm because that's what she took and margins are positive 5 out of 6. Also my diagnosis included 5/9 , estrogen+, progesterone very weakly reactive, and Her2-  This is at 2o'clock position in my right breast.

Did you get the final path report? Takes about a week after surgery. This might be splitting hairs but many members here have DCIS with the IDC, so it's possible that the IDC portion may be somewhat smaller.

I had DCIS and IDC - the IDC was somewhat smaller than the DCIS.
