small pea size lump

Hi

I'm new to the forum, and hope i'm in the right area.  I have a family history of breast cancer having lost a sister to the disease.  I am also a survivor of uterine cancer.  About a year or so ago, i felt a small pea size lump between my breast and armpit(closer to the breast than the armpit, but basically in that side area).  I had a mammogram late last year and they said they didn't see anything.  On and off over the past year i have felt the lump, but generally ignored it based on that mammogram result.  The lump is hard, painless, doesn't move and maybe just a teeny wee bit larger than last year.  Given that the mammogram was clean last year, should i ask for another diagnostic mammogram?  The Dr that read the mammogram said there was nothing and that this year a screening mammogram would be sufficient(given my personal and family history, i've always had a diagnostic one).  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!!!!!

    HI Andey

I'd ask for diagnostic and also ask for an Ultrasound of the area in question. The Ultrasound may pick up something different than a mammo.  Good luck to you!

    Hi Andey,

I also have breast ca and now two months out of surgery.  With your history ask for more imaging especially since you can still feel the lump.  My lump was in a difficult area to view so if I hadn't found it myself it wouldn't have been quite a while until imaging found it.  As a healthcare worker, be pushy because it's for your health.  Good luck!
