I have high risk due to family history and other risk factors.  I am looking for a proactive, patient-focused doctor for my screenings and annual exams. I am looking for a physician whose primary focus is on saving patients' lives.  Please send recommendations.  Thank you.

Bluesky5 - If you go to Illinois Ladies in the Help Get through Treatment forum, there are a lot of women with Chicago doctors.  They will help you with names.  What insurance do you have and do you want an MO or GP?

Bluesky PM me. Are you looking for a primary care, medical oncologist, gyno? Also do you have a PPO or HMO? My doctors are all at Rush but although they take blue cross & blue PPO shield they don't take their HMO. Also as of 2013 Rush will not be in Aetna's preferred network of doctors.

BTW I love my primary care MD. He's the "country doctor" type. Really knows is stuff.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. I am looking for a doctor to oversee my screenings (annual MRI and mammogram). Which type of doctor (breast surgeon, oncologist, general practitioner, gyn) do most high risk women see to coordinate and oversee their screenings and advise them on prophylactic preventative steps to take? Thanks

I have a PPO. I don't know which type of doctor I want -- I want a doctor who is very patient-focused and who takes a very proactive preventative approach not one who believes in doing as little as possible.

Just sent you a PM. Rush has one of the best imaging in the city.
