Herceptin and Hypertension

I just completed my year of adjuvant therapy with Herceptin, and I am experiencing increased hypertension. My PCP doubled my Losartan to 100 mg, but BP is still high. I have had hypertension for 6 yrs. I lost 30 lbs (on purpose Smile) in the past 5 months, and have a BMI of 22. I also walk at least 3 miles a day. I should have normal BP!

Has anyone else developed new hypertension, or worsening of existing hypertension, during or following treatment with Herceptin? What did you do to get it under control?

One of the side effects for my chemo drugs and herceptin was an increase in blood pressure.  Lucky me, both chemo and herceptin raised my already high BP.

I ended up with an increase in the one drug I was on and a second one was added.

Herceptin has a long half life (4 - 6 months) so you have herceptin circulating in your body for quite a while after your last dose.

I finished herceptin in the middle of February.  In July, I started to feel light headed when exercising.  I told my doctor and he said my meds needed to be changed.  In August, I was taken off the second drug.  My other drug dosage was slowly reduced over the following six months as my BP slowly returned to pre-treatment levels.
