My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 11 years ago at age 52.  It was caught very early but it was an aggressive form of cancer.  She went through a lumpectomy, chemo, radiation, and herceptin.  It had not spread to her lymph nodes under her arm.  The cancer has been gone for 11 years.  She was having some back problems and had an x-ray about 6 months ago.  At that time they saw a nodule in her lung.  It was only a partial view as the x-ray was for her back.  They decided to wait a few months and do another check x-ray.  She had that last week (with out the dye) and it came back showing 3 nodules two 7mm (one of which was seen in the other x-ray) and one rounded at 9mm.   Since the original x-ray was not focused on her lunch not sure if there are new..or bigger or what.  Because of her history they told her she needs to see the oncologist.  As you can imagine we are very worried and it's so hard to wait until Thursday.  Any thoughts or input from the community would be a big help.

Thanks so much

Hi sorry to hear about your mom.  I have a friend I used to bowl with, she was dx like 10 years ago had 4 pos lymph nodes. Within the last year a spot appeared on her lung, not sure how big it is/was.  Her onc gave her meds and I think a few rounds of radiation, anyway her tumor has shrunk is dormant and her onc is happy with that. So hang in there, even if it is bc related the meds today are so much better than they were 10 years ago!!
