Very interesting/unusual fashion-forward sleeve covers!
You have to have a strong fashion sense..but they at least made me think about the possibilities.

Cookie, those sleeve covers are certainly original! And I do agree with you that they make you think about the possibilities. They are lovely...probably nothing in the photo that goes with my wardrobe choices, but what a fresh direction!
-
I could see a young person wearing those and nobody even realizing there was any issue at all. Funky!
Now, if I put it on , it would be presumed Halloween was coming early :>)
-
Yeah, you would really have to have an edgy wardrobe to make it work. I just liked the idea that they could be beautiful.
-
Those are really cool! It's like Project Runway was given a special design challenge. Definitely hard to pull off without the right outfit, but I also love the idea that someone is thinking outside the box.
-
Definitely Project Runway! Great idea to play with and just get your brain working!
Love the ideas!

Thank you, Blessing and Cookie.
I love the black one in particular, but they're all intriguing. But even if you wore them with blue jeans and a t-shirt, they still wouldn't be any more provocative than our stupid sleeves. And they have the advantage of not looking one bit medical. Might even camouflage our bandages if we had it sized to fit over them--especially the fourth one. Neat!

The mutton sleeves make me think very Elizabethan, only updated. The one I like the most is the crocheted one...even without the globe at the top, the crochet idea is very inspiring. Blessings, thank you for figuring out how to drop the photo in.

Carol, here's a crochet pattern with a different look, considerably more casual:

You're welcome, Ladies!
How to post pics
1) Go to the website
2) Find the pic, and right click on it
3) Go down to the last line: “Properties” and click on that
4) This will show you the Address (URL) of the pic. Highlight, and copy this address
5) Go to the “Reply” box in the BCO thread
6) Click on the little icon of a tree in the gray panel at the top of your reply box. (“Insert/Edit Image”) You’ll get a little pop-up box.
7) Put your cursor in the space for “Image URL” and paste in the address you just copied
8) NOW – THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART: in that same pop-up box, go down to the line for “Dimensions”
9) Place your cursor in the first empty box and just click. This should automatically bring up the dimensions of the picture you’re trying to post. If you skip this step the picture will not show up.
10) Click on “Insert” and you’re done! (Always “Preview” to be sure.)

thanks Blessings!

I like that the hands are so long on them, the famous Chilli sparkle sleeve did not do that.

There is some interesting stuff here, batwing dresses and a loose cardigan that looks very promising

I think the one shoulder is tough for most of us, but it might work for someone, I could see this as a cool MOB dress
-
What a good idea, Tina. I wonder if anyone has suggested a Lymphedema challenge to Project Runway? What a way to spread the word.
-
Hi mods, why can we not post a photo by uploading a jpeg? In this day of facebook it seems odd that we have to jump though so many hoops. Thanks!

cookiegal, it's something the tech team are looking into, to see how to deal with issues around security, file sizes, image dimensions and so on. We know members would like this to be easier, and we hope to make it possible in a future update.
Thanks for asking!
-
I ordered my first sleeve today-- Lymphedivas LOTUS DRAGON TATTOO.
A smarter choice would have bene the black Crystal swirl on pg 13 of their catalogue to ' go with anything' if wearing out in public. The one I ordered looks very cool for in home exercise though.
Very cool?
Lymphedema ?
UGH> -
OK cookiegal., who the hey looks like that lady in pink ?!!!
-
Cookie, how about these as a simpler version. Not as fashion forward, but pretty. Just spotted in latest Garnet Hill catalog:
http://www.garnethill.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/textured-fingerless-gloves/268113?redirect=y -
Tina, those garnet Hill items are beautiful, but a bit spendy. Ladies who crochet or knit--is this a potential cottage industry?
-
Now you're talking!
They are relly very nice, but I have to say, I balked at the price. Would also be nice if they included glove/ mittens to pull over the top when it gets colder. Perhaps they do, but I could not tell..
-
Oh, yeah, forget the price. Too much, but I figured those who know how to knit and crochet could easily do. Just an example.
I agree about a mitten cover. When I wear my sleeve and glove in the winter, sometimes when in car or outside I have to use isotoner glove to prevent fingers from freezing. Not sure I should do this because the compression level is not the same. Better to have cover for my custom glove. -
I actually like the "fingerless" gloves with fingers better..though the leather ones I got did not have them.
I also don't need them really warm, for LE camoflage reasons.
I'd rather they be on the light side so I can sort of wear them indoors. If it's cold out any old gloves work.
I do have some mitten/glove things, where you can uncover your fingers, they are good if I have to work outside.
-

Yes, I gave my mailman a pair for the holiday last year. He loves them! -
If you are a knitter, there are hundreds of patterns out for fingerless gloves and arm warmers currently. Just look on www.ravelry.com or www.knittingpatterncentral.com They take just a skein or two of yarn and for those with just one compression sleeve, you can finally have "matching" arms again, at least while it's cold out.
-
I especially liked this pattern...http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/lettuce-knit-arm-warmers It only takes 1 or 2 skeins of yarn depending on size you knit so would cost less than $10 to make in Large/XLarge size.
-
They are lovely, but look at the models. Not a swollen arm on one of those mannequins. Sorry to be a downer but what will they look like with sausage arms inside and arm-muffin hanging out the top. Sorry, not for me. Just sign me "sick of buying tops 3x larger than I need so my arms fit".
Has anyone else had problems with the Lymphediva sleeves coming unravelled at the inside top band?
