Going to take the fam to ZooBoo at the Memphis Zoo. There are trick or treat trails, haunted tours of the "creatures of the night" exhibits, fortune tellers, disco parties, tons of fun!
-
Funny, I dreamed about this last night! In my dream I was a young woman again, going to a party with a girlfriend. I had decided to be Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. It was either that or Little Bo Peep. Any dream interpreters out there?
In reality, I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was in my 30's, long time ago.
-
Lana -- that sounds like a blast! Better get your disco dancin' shoes on!
Yorkie -- we think you should make your dream come true! Give it a shot -- go shopping for that Dorothy costume. Who knows? Maybe it's a sign of something to come...a treasure at the end of the yellow brick road perhaps?? Live it up -- dressing up isn't just for the kiddies!
-
Heck, Mods, maybe I will!

I am working on the "grands" costumes, kind of a tradition for me to do it. One black cat, a real looking ninja, and one ninjago (a lego ninja).
My own stand-by costume is Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I didn't dream about it, just happen to have the appropriate blue gingham dress and red shoes.
I love to see the little ones dressed up. Wish I could see all my BC sisters in costume. -
I'm not dressing up, but I *am* planning on swooping into a Halloween store on the morning of the 31st and picking up some funky wigs on discount to have some fun with my bald chemo head--who's with me!
-
I've been a nurse for thirty-five years, so I'm digging out my old white Air Force nurse's dress, starch it up, polish the white oxfords, find SOMEWHERE to buy white pantyhose, dust off the nurse's cap, and go as REAL old-fashioned nurse.
I work pure administrative duties in a county office with paramedics popping in and out, so this should be a true Halloween scream.
Although with my new explosion of chemo curls, I could go as the bride of Frankenstein, no problem.

Ann Boleyne!!!

Yorkie mom--Dorothy means happy times after searching for them and Lil Bo peep u feel a loss but combine them both and it's good.
I might go to a party tomorrow and if I do I will wear my sparkly top consisting of stars, half moona dn something else (I forgot) and my pajama jeans which are comfortable--comfort first then th whole sparkly look. I hope I can go.
-
Wow, thanks Camille! And that all makes sense. I had the dream on the night before my one year cancerversary!

I dressed up for a party last week for the first time in about 30 years. I went as a gypsy. I put a brightly colored scarf around my chemobeanie and bought a peasant skirt and blouse at a discount store for 4.00! It beat wearing a wig!
-
We haven't heard yet if we're going to be allowed a dress-up day at the elementary school where I work. I hope we can, because I want to dress as a beauty pageant queen. Very divine. I'll post a photo if I dress up.

Any other fun ideas for Halloween this year??
-
Oh a long while ago on a different thread, this year, we were discussing concerns re ongoing monitoring of cancer status using CT scans, MUGAs, bone scans, X-rays, you know the things that have been proven to cause cancer. Someone said that she wanted to go as a glow in the dark skeleton and someone else posted a picture of a tshirt with a glow in the dark thoracic skeleton. It was very funny. Still is.
-
kayfh, love that
-
Good idea.

Happy halloween all! Plans for tonight??
-
Ironically, I will be sitting in my weight loss class tonight, while DH stays home to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.
I will be wearing my "Official Candy Taster" T-shirt with candy corn on it, which is pretty funny, since I'm not allowed any carbs or sugars yet, except for fresh fruit.
I wonder if I could convince them that candy corn is a vegetable?

Here I am as the Divine Mrs. M
-
