so, thanksgiving morning, i went on a lovely 2.5 hour bike ride with friends, and it was fantastic. it was about 50 deg F up here in minnesota... then, we went geocaching with other friends, and that was kind of amazing. i had never done that before, but the kids were all super in to it. the cache was well hidden, and it took us like a half-hour to find it, even though we were wandering around the same 4 square meters the whole time! finally, we headed to our vegan friends' for t-day dinner, and that was full of fabulous food and good conversation...
and, on a last note, my sister in law, who is living in australia, had major surgery for suspected stage iv cancer... with a slim slim slim chance of no cancer at all. in a bizarre twist, she actually came out of surgery with the surgeon concluding no cancer at all!!!!! we are all in joyful and thankful shock.
i hope everyone had a great holiday - as conflicted as i am about the history of this holiday, i love getting together with people and thinking about the good things in life. and yesterday was full of good good things.

I have my Pre-op today for my exchange surgery next week. I'm getting boobies for Christmas! I am so excited to get these stinkin' expanders out!
-
Woohoo! Real 'fake' boobies for Christmas! Awesome news!! :-) recover well!
-
Lorileo...me too!! My surgery is the 15th. Good luck!
Claire...what is a "hut"?
I am looking into geochaching...maybe I can get my 3 kids into the woods with it. Perhaps a Christmas present?
My joy to share is that this weekend I drove my 16 year old son to a cross country meet in North Carolina, 5 hours away. We left the rest of the family home. Thats not so joyous...but his PHONE died AND he forgot his charger. So that means I got 10 hours of just real live conversation with him. No texting, loud music or phone ringing. Woohoo!!! Bwahahaha!!!! -
Geewhiz- good luck to you too. I have a 15 year old son so I hear ya on the real live conversation! Good for you. That is something to be joyful for!

umm.... beautiful weather, I saw my family( thanksgiving at our house) and they are all in good shape. Hugs from sons. Spirits drooping but I am working on being outside more and breathing more and focusing on one day at a time. and this website and its various topics is a big support!

It's ( ugh) cold here today ( yes I'm a wuss when it comes to cold weather!) 50 degrees BUT its sunny! I have a nice fire going in our wood stove AND the cleaning fairies just left my house and its CLEAN! It's especially nice because I'm still on the 5 lb pushing, pulling, lifting restriction so o cleaning for me ..yet.

I finally got rid of those awful TEs. I'm already off of pain pills and I think my new foobs look pretty good. I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Such joy (and relief)!

spent the afternoon at my young Burmese friend's apt. making omlettes. She had enjoyed one once while in the refugee camp in Thailand and then when we were at the hospital a few weeks ago for her pre-op tests in preparation for back surgery, she spotted the omlette station in the hospital cafeteria, so we ordered one omlette with everything and carefully watched while it was being prepared. We shared it and it was delicious. I promised her we would make omlettes after her surgery when she was feeling better and today was the day. She had gathered all the ingredients - however I am glad that I had stopped at the deli and picked up a quarter of a pound of ham because she didn't know what ham was. Pork but cured? anyway, we made omlettes with precision diced tomatoes, green peppers, onions, ham and cheese for ourselves, omlettes for her father and mother in law, an omlette for her husband to take to work, one for her son for when he came home from school and one for a friend.... she was thrilled and I totally enjoyed myself.
