Hi I have also been dx with IDC/DCIS on 17/8/2012. I have had 3 lumpectomies, a snb, a snd and finally a mx. We just couldnt get a clear margin. Last op was on 25/9/12 and I still have my drains in. Pita. I'm 39 have a partner and 3 girls. 17,3 & 18mths. My chemo starts on 19oct.

I am er+, pr+ & Her2+ grade 3. Until recently I have not had any family contact so had to assume BC did not run in the family. I was wrong though. I'm not sure this changes much now though, will have to speak to Onc on Monday. It is good to be able to look on this forum and find that unfornately I am not alone. Thank you

I just wanted to welcome you....eventhough none of us want to be here.  It is a long road, but once you get through things life will slowly return to normal.  Take it one day at a time.  I hope chemo goes fast with few side effects.  Best of luck.....and hugs.   You are right - you are NOT alone in this.  You will always find friends, support and helpful information here.

Thanks Maria. Yes it is going to be a long ride but my girls make me laugh daily. Their smiles and people like yourself are what inspire me. Glad to see you have come out the other side. Mel
