new to the board a to LCIS

Hi everyone...i stumbled upon this very informative board and wanted to drop a line....i recently was diagnosed with ICiS and docs are recommending tomoxifon ... i have heard about the side effects...cancer of the uterin...hot and cold flashes ...decreased sex drive....the one that scares me is the cancer of the uterin.... anyone on this pill and what were your side effects??? My sister in law has been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and had a double masectomy last month...she will be starting chemo then radiation...she is only 44...i'm 50 and scared as hell....my grandmother had breast cancer at a very late age...she was in her 80's when she passed...although she is my father's mother, believe it or not.., my parents are related...they are from Lebanon and this is acceptable there...matched marriages..my father was born here and my mother in Lebanon...they did not know each other but it was an arranged marriage...but the blood line is still there if you ask me.  just wanted to know your thoughts.

I have been taking tamoxifen since January and I have been having hot flashes, but nothing too bad.  I had a mastectomy in January because of DCIS.  I just found out today that I have LCIS in my remaining breast which is very scary to know that something else is wrong.  As far as the tamoxifen goes, I had a hysterectomy in Dec 2010 and had my ovaries removed, so I had already been dealing with surgical menopause, so I don't have to worry about the uterine cancer possibility.  I have had some weight gain, but I don't know if tamoxifen is to blame.  I also feel pretty achy at times. mostly my feet and ankles.
