I can say I will be happy to be the first guinea pig for any experiements. I also wonder if there are any studies out there on how many premenopausal women turn to HRT to feel better after cancer treatment. I will be the first to admit, I have absolutely no desire to live my life feeling this poorly for the next 40 years. I will take 20 years of feeling decent.

    Hi,

I also started taking HRT as soon as I had my bilateral oophorectomy in 2008 when I was 36. I was diagonosed with BC in 2010 (ER-/ PR-) after 2 years of having HRT. I had lumpectomy and given loads of radiation. My GP advised me to stop taking HRT after it, but due to horrible hot flashes and night sweat, etc. my BC surgeon adviced me to continue taking it to avoid getting Osteoporosis as I have Marphan syndrome as well. I was diagonsed with recurrence of BC with ER-/PR- in addition with HER2+ just recently in Dec last year. My GP advised me to stop taking HRT again, but  just 2 weeks after the withdrawl of it, I am having started hot flashes and night sweat as well as feeling down too since last couple of days. I have had mastectomy completed just recently with removal of my auxillary lymph nodes. I am awaiting to hear for pathology result tomorrow whether to go for further treatments or not. In the mean time I don't know if they will suggest me to continue with my lovely HRT or stop it for ever??? Most possibly I would have to stop it as I am hormone sensitive and that was the main cause of my BC I was told by my medical team. I have no clue if my life will be easy without HRT? Any advice will be highly appreciated!

The first question I would ask is how old are you now, and why did you have your ovaries removed? I am at this time because of making the wrong decision of having my ovaries removed I am in full blown menopause and have felt miserable for over 2 years. I am trying to get on HRT just to feel better, and I know it is risky. I would wait to see what your path report and scans show first and talk with your doctors. For me, everything is clear, tumor markers are as low as they can go, and scans are great except for osteoporosis, at 42. I am losing bone and muscle so rapidly that even my 6 day per week workouts can not maintain which is why I am seeking to just be balanced again. Good luck.

I got my hormone panel results in the other day, and amazingly enough it appears Etrogen is not the problem, but Testosterone. My level is 7. normal is above 30. I have a appointment on Monday. I am hoping for a good outcome. I hope things are well with everyone.

I hope you are doing well. I did get my hormone panel results in and it looks like Estrogen is not so much the problem as Testosterone. My level was 7, and normal range is above 30. I have a appointment on Monday. We will have to see what happens. My very supportive husband is going with me.

I was on the Combi Patch for over ten years and my doctor said it was safe.  I was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma August 2014.  Had no history of Breast cancer did the genitic testing negative.  Went through Chemo, Bilateral Mastectomy and radiation.  Anyone else been on this patch and diagnosed with BC.  Want to start a class action lawsuit.
