Footless tights as bandage or sleeve covers

I was in the neighboring "big city" picking up my new sleeve and glove (finally - thanks insurance for holding it up) and I stopped at Shopko ( Midwest hybrid of Walmart/Target). I have been wearing footless tights over my bandages as a cover, it keeps them from unraveling or loosening throughout the day and looks nicer. I just cut the legs off and use the bottom bound edge by my hand and tuck in the top at the top of my bandages. I cut a thumb hole so it covers my hand too. (I learned this on this site!!!). I though I was doing well finding $4.00 pairs at Walmart - still much cheaper than buying covers online. But at Shopko, I found all colors and patterns for $1.29 each on clearance. I cleared the shelves and got almost 20 pairs. I was just feeling sad at the fitters when I looked at all the pretty colors of dream sleeves on display, and I have ugly heavy elvarex. Now I can cover it when I want with pretty colors too!!! They weren't the footless type with the bottom binding, but I can work it out for that price!!

I've always found good deals at Shopko - Playtex compression garments (high waist briefs, etc) were on clearance earlier this year so I got both black & beige to wear in the cooler weather, helps my truncal edema. That brand is even machine wash/dry! Haven't seen them for sale anywhere else so perhaps they're discontinued by the manufacturer. Sizing went up to 4X which is probably not easy to find...

GottaloveNED  Awesome idea! I am going to hit Walmart this weekend and then spend some time with my serger.

We kind of had a thread going about "LE Fashion" and I think some mentioned tights, but I was not getting my head around it (my daughter is 24 so have not really seen tights in quite a while). I forgot all the pretty colors and patterns.

Thank You, you have inspired me.
