Options

Hi all. I'm not really new to this site. I use to come here everyday back in 2009. I guess that she. My journey begain. Now I see a lot has changed.

let me introduce myself. I am a 53 year old mother of 4 grown children, who has been blessed to be married to my best friend for more than 35 years. I am a Breast Cancer Survivor.

I found out I had Breast cancer in 2009, and today, I found out its. Back. I broke my femur and during the surgery to reinforce my leg a 13+cm mass was found on the bone. How do I feel about it......scared, numb, angered, but very hopeful and possetive.

So here I am again. This is the place were I know I can find answers and beautiful people who really understand.

Alice, we're sorry you've had to return, although it's good to know you've rediscovered an awesome community for information and support, hugs and real understanding.

You are the first person I found with a similar story to my own.  I am a 19 year survivor and have now been diagnosed with a 9 cm tumor in the femor. I am trying to figure out the best treatment.  The bone is very fragil so I can have a rod in the femur and then radiation.  My second option is a proimal femoral replacement (similar to a hip replacement).  The later would take the tumor out where the first option would depend on radiation to kill the tumor.  What were your options?  Would you mind sharing what treatment you decided on?

    Hi Alice,

I have the same story as you. Breast cancer in 2009 and discovered last month that it has metasized to the bone. Pelvis and femur. I am having surgery next week - a hip replacement and I am going to see my oncologist on wednesday to find out what she has planned for me after the surgery.

Good wishes and thoughts to you

    Rina
