is recurrence is a must ?

I am always wondering if cancer is curable ? and if their is a chance that i can live upto 80 years for example

many of my friends says No, if you had cancer once in your life you will die with cancer it should come back !

is this is true ?

    That's ridiculous! I don't know what stage, grade etc. you are, but there's no reason to believe an early stage bc will kill one. Of course, it COULD, but it could just as easily not.

    Recurrence is a possibility, not a "given". Also, even if you have a recurrence of breast cancer, it doesn't mean you will die of breast cancer. Many women survive a recurrence or a new cancer in the breast.

    Recurrence and metasasis are different. If breast cancer appears in another part of the body, such as the liver, bones, brain, that is distant mestatasis and is considered incurable.
