Breast LE and mammos

Hi all

Most of you have gotten to know me over the past few weeks  as I have struggled with the idea that I *might* have breast LE.  The N.P. at MGH pretty much confirmed it over the phone, and my mirror and you ladies are really all the DX I need.  Having said that, I WILL see a LE specialist and many thanks to Binney ( and all) for helping with that.

I dont know how many here have BREAST LE, but I am very concerned about mammos.

My sister had silicone implants about 40 yrs. ago ( NO problems!!!)  She is 60 and has NEVER had a  mamo. I am sure my DX scares here , but there is no family history.

In any case, I now know how she feels!  I am extremely concernefd about taking an area that is swollen, inflammed and has fluid in it and having such hard compression.

Can others share their experience with this ? ( I really envision a permanent dent if nothing else !)  The DIAGNOSTIC  mammo has even more compression, and I am scheduled for next mo.

Not even sure my DR would order an US , but is that a fair DX tool for BC?  I am only 5 mos out from LX but had no rad. so that is why I asked for a  6 mos mammo.

BTW, Rads may contribute to LE risk , but it is by NO means a cause. I am living prooof!  SNB with 2 nodes out and three weeks post LX I saw " changes".
