How long herceptin after chemo?

Hello, ladies.

I have finished 12 rounds of Taxol and 8 rounds of Herceptin. I have done 2 rounds of AC and two more to go. So I am off Herceptin until after I am done with ACs.

I thought I am going to be on Herceptin for 1 year after ACs, but my doctor briefly mentioned it will be 10 months.  I am going to ask him the next time I see him, but I wanted to ask everyone how long you were on Heceptin after chemo.

Hi there! I was also on Herceptin for a year. I understand, though, that some European countries' studies have shown that shorter treatment times are also very effective, so it wouldn't surprise me if you're receiving less than a year now.

Exactly, I have done 2 months of Herceptin.....

I now understand why my doc said 10 months. Thanks!!

I have read somewhere that 1 year of herceptin is just as effective as 2 years.  I haven't read the ones about shorter treatment than a year.  Interesting....
