Hello ladies.  I am a fellow warrior.  I just wanted to take a few minutes and tell you about an amazing organization called The Mama Luke Foundation.  Do y'all remember UTFO?  Their big hit was "Roxanne, Roxanne".  Well one of their members, Kangol Kid, is a friend of mine.  He started Mama Luke to help raise money for breast cancer research in honor of his best friend and manager, Shaunda Lumpkin's, mother Gay Francis Lucas.  Mama Luke is specifically targeted to the African American community.  Kangol now dedicates his time to traveling around the country to raise awareness and funds for The Mama Luke Foundation.  He has turned to his first line of defense, his hip hop family, to help him in this fight.  He has assembled the Mama Luke All Stars - legends like Rahiem from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Master Gee from the Sugarhill Gang, Cut Creator (LL Cool J's DJ) and many others.  Please check them out on Facebook - Mama Luke - and know that they are part of your army in battling this disease.

That is interesting .The fight against breast cancer should be encouraged everywhere  and having stars to be involved will encourage participation by all and sundry. Especially in developing countries like Nigeria where medical care for breast cancer strains families when they have to pay from their pockets for cancer care.Where the psychological  and  socioeconomic stability of homes are taken away when women die from cancers.I have always had passion for public health that is why i initiated a breast and cervical cancer awareness campaign and screening program in Taraba state at the taraba state specialist hospital where i work.We are  presently preparing for a phase 2 screening program in partnership with our state ministries of health and women affairs. I stretch my hands of invitation to whoever is interested to collaborate with us in our fight against cancer.
