33 and scared

I am 33 years old and I had a hysterectmey (if i spelled that right) almost a year and a half ago.  I quit taking my HRT due to them making my hot flashes way to intense.  In april of 2012 I went in for my annual exam and my doctor had found a lump in my left breast.  She ordered a ultrasound and it came back that I just had really dense breast tissue and was told not to worry.  Over the past month or so my left breast has become painful swollen and I have been experiencing discharge.  I went back to my doctor and she brushed it off as hormonal and said that if it would make me feel better she would order another ultrasound.  I was not happy with the way that she treated me, so I found another doctor and she did a exam on me and found my lymph node was swollen under my arm on my left side.  She immediatley ordered a mammogram along with a ultrasound.  She did tell me that since I am young and my breast are dense that those two tests would probably not show anything, but they were a part of the process.  I had the tests done 2 days ago and sure enough they showed nothing.  I followed back up with the ordering doctor and she said that she would not stop until we found out what was wrong.  Today I am going for a breast MRI, and she is sending me to a breast surgeon.  I am really exhausted and have been for about a month.  Should I be this worried??  HELP!!

It is a good thing you got a new doctor. Way to take control of your body. I just had a Breast MRI yesterday and I am ANXIOUSLY waiting for results. The MRI was very easy, waiting for results is difficult and draining. These forums can bring you great knowledge and support along the way. It sounds like this doctor is thorough!! Good luck and let us know how it went and what the bs says......

I just got home from getting the MRI done.  They gave me a copy of it along with my 2 ultrasounds and mammogram.  I am just waiting to hear from the doctor.  I am a RN and i can see some spots that I question, but I am trying not to worry until I hear from the Doctor.  I am glad I found a new doc.   I just cannot stand waiting.  I have never understood why when it comes to something serious like this they can't have someone there to read them and go over them with you.  Why make you wait.  Please let me know how yours comes out as well!
