I had a BMX with Node Dissection 1/11/11. Since I had no need for an oncologist, my breast surgeon was in charge of my case. I had not seen her in a year, and gave the clinic a call. She left the area!!!! AND...she had left notes a year ago that she wanted to see me in 3-4 months! NO ONE TOLD ME THIS INFO!!!!

So I called the oncologist I had seen for a second opinion in the late winter/spring of 2011. He said my family doctor can handle my case. The clinic where my breast surgeon was, wanted to set me up with another surgeon...

I don't know what to do. I realize the chance of reoccurrence is almost nill, but I would like someone handling my case.

What do the gals who had low grade DCIS and a BMX have for your longterm aftercare?

Thanks

I have no need for an OB-GYN, so that isn't an option for me.

My diagnosis was high grade DCIS, and I had a microinvasion of IDC. I had a single MX.

My surgeon continued to see me every 6 months for a couple of years but then turned me over to my family doctor. What's most important is that you have a thorough physical exam - your family doctor should be able to do that effectively.
