Paget's Scare

I am a 36 year old women whose maternal grandmother died of breast cancer at 40. For the past three years I thought I had vitiligo affecting my right nipple area. Today I finally saw a dermatologist as the nipple has been developing sores. I was told it is not vitiligo and will be treated for eczema. If the eczema does not respond to treatment I will need a biopsy to rule out Paget's. 

 Of course my doctor told me not to worry and of course I am worried!!! 

Mostly, I worry that we do not know what type of breast cancer my grandmother had and perhaps this is how her symptoms began.  I worry that I may have let this go too long. 

Because of my family history, I began mammograms at 34 years of age. So far they have been normal.
