New DCIS, first time treated with mammosite radiation.

Crap, I'm back. After almost 8 years.

Just got a dx of DCIS in different spot from my first DCIS. Path is still looking for invasive in the stereotactic samples. Hoping for the best there. What treatment choices I have after having had the local radiation (mammosite) will soon be my question. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

So sorry about your news Ginger, I have all my digits crossed that they don't find any IDC. 

MX is the standard of care, I believe.  You can't have radiation again to the same breast.  The good news is these days previous radiation does not preclude one from reconstruction - there are many options available.

Well, more crap. I do have 2 small areas of invasive. I've got a call in to my surgeon. The rest of the path analysis will be back tomorrow or Monday. Thanks for posting.

I do have 2 small areas of invasive ductal carcinoma and will have mx with alloderm reconstruction within the next 2 weeks. Guess I have to jump to a new forum.:(

Best of luck to you Ginger.  I am glad that reconstruction is an option for you ... do you know if you will be following up with chemo?
