Self Employed and seeking Disability

Has anyone that is self employed and had to close their business, sought SS Disability?
I've had to close my daycare while going thru Chemo and Radiation. We are losing a 1/3 of our income, by my doing so. I'm meeting with a lawyer tomorrow to see about filing for disablity. Just wondering if anyone has done this and how it turned out for you? Thanks!
