I was diagnosed with DCIS 7-30 and I'm scheduled for surgery 9-27. This waiting is insane! Just putting these dates in writing and looking at the time lapse between diagnosis and surgery makes me uneasy to say the least. I keep hearing how difficult these combined surgeries are to coordinate. BS, PS and Operating room availability.

Not sure if there is already a thread going for September BMX's but I'd love to hear how you all are hanging in there while waiting for your surgeries. I'll hold your hand if you hold mine! : (

For those of you who have already had yours I'm wishing you healing thoughts!

    Hi Denise,

Good luck with your surgery! There is a thread in the Surgery forum for September ladies, so come on over and join us.

My surgery is Sept 5 (day after tomorrow - yikes!). I had a unimx almost 4 years ago and now i'll be having a prophy mx on the other side with bilateral TE placement.

Thanks Leah! I'm trying to maneuver my way through this whole process including the darn BC website. Lol! I appreciate the direction, I'll hop on over to the Surgery thread.

Big healing wishes for your surgery tomorrow. I'm so sorry you're needing to go through all this again. Here's to a swift recovery. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

    Hi KellieDenise

Agreed. The waiting for surgery is very hard. Mine is tentatively slotted for mid-Sept. My biopsy was 8-14. But many wise veteran posters here responded to a thread I started about my concerns regarding the elapsed time from biopsy to surgery. Their reassurance has helped a bunch.

I hope you're doing good. Also, I was wondering what stage, grade, size your DCIS is. Hope it's okay to ask. I belong to the DCIS group here too. At least for now which is based on my biopsy as I know things can change once the Lumpectomy path comes back.

    Very best to you, hon.

And oh, btw. How are the lymphnodes doing. Have they calmed down completely now?  Mine are almost there. They started to feel sore again today for no reason whatsoever. Undecided

Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you. I couldn't find ya! I probably should have sent you a private message so you received it sooner.

My BMX is the same day as yours with tissue expander reconstruction. Having lots of anxiety the last few days, even though I was anxiety free for several weeks after SLNB showed no invasive cancer in the nodes. Even ended up in the ER with severe anxiety attack 9/14. EMT insisted I go, knowing my recent biopsies and surgery. Turned out everything was okay. Speaking of biopsies, my SLNB was 8/30/12 and my arm, armpit and shoulder blade are still numb sometimes, hypersensitive and painful at others. how about you? Surgeon says this is a good sign that it is healing, but it could takes weeks to months to sort itself out. I know my prognosis is good, but all this waiting is agonizing, isn't it?
