Scalp tenderness on Herceptin?

My scalp is so tender! lol When I was doing my chemo, they said my scalp would start hurting before my hair fail out and it never did. Now my scalp has recently started getting tender just on top. It has also been itching extremely bad for the last several months. It is not flaky, so it is not dandruff, just really itchy and very tender. The last few treatments they have sped up the drip. So instead of 1.5 hrs, it is now a 30 min. drip. Could that be the reason my scalp is so tender? Has anyone ever  had this problem before?

Yes--I had a tender scalp during Herceptin, and it lasted for months after I finished.  I'm not sure that Herc. caused the  tenderness--could  be the hair coming back making  the scalp tender. I finished Herc. last December and I haven't had the tender scalp in a few months. Itchy scalp is still around, though, but I'm just happy to feel hair when I scratch instead of a bald head!  Hope yours gets better, soon!

Thanks! I have hair. It started to grow back during Taxol in Feb. So I have a good head of hear. I thought it might be that to, itchy because the hair was growing in, but since I already have hair I was unsure. I do see my doctor on Fri, so I will ask him. All of a sudden I have a bunch of new symptoms that I haven't had before or that have just gotten worse.
