My original cancer was in 2004...DCIS was discovered in a mammogram in July....the needle biopsy indicates it is DCIS and Her2/neu Positive.  They are indicating that this is a new primary not a recurrence of the original.

My oncologist indicates there is a clinical trial the Her2/neu positive DCIS and that I should be eligible for Herceptin.   Last time I did not qualify for any of the Herceptin trials.       Any of you involved in this trial???

There is a vaccine trial at University of Pennsylvania that I participated in 3 yrs ago. It is still active. Email me at sdodt@me.com and I can give you info. I had DCIS/her2/neu too and was lucky enough to get this. It made my immune system completely eat all the dcis cells and had very little side effects. Herceptin only protects you for awhile. Vaccine immunity in this trial is 84 mo out and no reccurences for my phenotype. Shelley www.shelleydodt.com
