Lung function Test

Options

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post, but has anyone did a lung function test before? My Dr said my results are normal, but when I read them they say something different!!!

It says mild restriction.

How can I know what the figures mean, can my general Dr translate them or it has to be a specialist, cause he is out of the country and I can't wait to know what the numbers mean.

    Hi, Polyana,

Because I have a history of asthma, they wanted to do a baseline lung function test before ordering radiation for me. I had 80% normal lung function... which was a disappointing number to me, but it was high enough to risk potential lung scarring from radiation. BTW, "normal" is always a range of numbers... I guess I was "normal enough!"

So, that was in 2004, and I never noticed any difference after ending treatment.

Hang in there. Waiting for information from test results is really the pits.

    ((hugs))
