Just got off the phone with the MO's office, tumor after surgery is TN. Was er+ at the biopsy (5). Wondering what happens now and if this has happened to anyone else.

No words of wisdom, lost. Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. You've had a rough time of it lately. I will say that my husband's first cousin, who was been with me every step of the way through this, was diagnosed triple negative three years ago and is doing great now. No recurrence; no problems at all. Of course we know she's not out of the woods yet. None of us ever really will be, I guess. But her MO did tell her that at five years, she is in a much better place than those of us who are ER+, because most triple negatives recur in less than five years if they are going to do so at all.

My biopsy was ER+ 84% during the biopsy and post-mastectomy pathology.  My Oncotype DX test came back with a triple negative diagnosis.  My oncologist sent my specimen out to two different labs and a total of 7 more tests were done and they all came back triple negative.  My oncologist thinks that I have both types of cancer in my tumor.  I'm beginning to doubt the ER+ test results and wondered if they tested the DCIS next to my IDC instead of the actual tumor.  I had 4 Taxotere/Cytoxan and now my oncologist wants me to start on Femara.  I'm not sure I'll benefit from it, other than getting horrible SE.  Even so, being a Stage I, with no node, skin, nipple, or chest wall involvement, my oncologist is saying only 15% chance of recurrence.  It's all a crap shoot.
