Invasion into pectoral muscles - anyone experienced this ?

Hi All,

I have IDC Grade 3 had my Mx and AX clearance on 26th June, so recovering well :)

Went back for my post op results and the bad news was that the cr*ppy cells had invaded further into my pectoral muscles than they first imagined, so my surgeon said he was going to research the best options for treatment for me, whether this means doing further surgery, like with old fashioned radical mascectomies and removing my muscles (which kinda scares me) or whether radiotherapy combined with chemo will be enough. I'm still waiting for their call back and thought be pro active and reserach everywhere you can. Anyone been through this ? Be grateful for any advice :)

Thanks xoxo

I can't help, as I do not have any information pertaining to your post, but I will tell you that my mother-in-law had the Halston radical 35 years ago, and she has never even had a scare all these years that it may have come back.  That was the treatment they used back at MSK when she was diagnosed, and she's been healthy and living her life beautifully all these years.  I wish you all the best,

    Linda
