Today is the day that I had a double mastectomy...one year ago!

I was diagnosed on late July.  I thought I was doomed!  I had 4cm. of IDC, multifocal, with a Ki67 score at 30.  I was thinking the worst.

But last August 5th I had the double mastectomy and my sentinel nodes were clean!

There is hope in breast cancer.

    Congratulations!

I am not sure where to calculate my 1 year anniversary but I may have passed it a few times.

Aprils Fools 2011 I started cancer treatment - more than a year ago (I see humor in that date:)

    July 11, 2011 - MX w/ positive nodes - one year past

Next milestone will be December when I am a year out from chemo.

I agree there is hope in successfully treating breast cancer - I am still talking about it more than year after diagnosis and that is success!

All is well. Life is good.

With no positive nodes, it was easy for me...mastectomy date is the day I was cured.

Maybe when you finished chemo?  Or maybe you have lots of dates to celebrate!

(I totally ignore the diagnosis date...)
