Shampoo

I am 3 1/2 months post chemo and yes my hair is coming back. It's still short so hard to tell if it will curl. I am sooooo confused about shampoo and what to use now. Want to try to avoid the parabens etc but just want something that will make my hair strong and hopefully shiny as it comes in. It seems coarse and slightly drier Than I remember. I found this shampoo called Shea Moisture and was pschyed cause it's so natural. As I did some research seems its marketed towards Women with African American hair texture. So I was wondering if anyone has tried this or just has some shampoo recommendations. Up until now I had only been wetting my hair in the shower and would once a week use my old volumizing shampoo.

Thanks all!

    Hi doubleAA,

I have naturally curly hair and have avoided parabens and sulfates in my shampoo for many years. Curly hair does tend to be drier and not reflect light as much so is not as shiny. Not washing it often is great! I do wet my hair in the shower daily and run conditioner through it. I am not African American but mostly use products designed for ethnic hair. I think they work really well. Try a few different brands until you find one you like. Target, in my area, has a great ethnic hair care section, at better prices than the specialty stores. I love the Shea Moisture products, especially the restorative conditioner.
