How do I find out if I am high risk?

I want to start the process now. I am 28 soon to be 29 and thinking about having kids in the near future. I need to know my risk because it may change my plans. I have no relatives with breast cancer other than my mom. She was diagnosed at 53 and passed away at 58. My grandfather (mom's side) had colon cancer when he was in his fourties...eventually died from it at 77. Any advice on where to begin? And does insurance cover it?

If your mother had or died of breast cancer, you are naturally at higher risk but that does not mean "highest" risk.  Speak with your doctors about genetic testing as well as meeting with a geneticist to go over your profile.
