Well here I am, having taken the scenic route to get here since 1 June.

I am one of those Birads 5 peeps who get biopsied for a large, highly suspicious mass, only to find it's a benign tubular adenoma, so they biopsy again - and yay - it's a benign tubular adenoma again, but it has to come out so off I go for the lumpectomy some weeks later.

Final pathology is indeed a 5cm by 3cm tubular adenoma, BUT 9mm of the outside edge is DCIS.

What are the chances of that!

It's been a long and anxious 2 months but if you'll have me I would like to join your group please.

Many thanks,

Janet x

Hi Janet and of course, welcome! - I don't believe there's any need to ask, everyone is welcome who needs this support.

When someone new introduces themselves people often reply with "sorry you need to be here but glad you've found us!"  So fitting isn't it?

Do you have more treatments coming up?  Hugs and hope they go as smoothly as possible!

    Thanks Cathy

I am now waiting for an appt to meet with the radiation specialist, but only so she can tell me that I don't actually need it.  Apparently I need to hear this direct from the correct specialist (not the surgeon who I saw yesterday).  There is no need for another operation as good clear margins were definately obtained with my lumpectomy.
