Just want to let you ladies know that I got very good news from my pathology report after my bmx, I had not gotten clear margins on my lumpectomy so after alot of soul searching I decided to have a bmx, it was also my BS's advice as I was also ER/PR- . Mabe if I had bigger boobs I would have gone for a re-excision but I'm a 34A. Also I was trying to avoid radiation. I'm 43 and have 4 small children. It did seem like a radical thing to do, but I'm happy with my decision especially now that they found pre-cancerous cells on my "good" boob, which never showed up on any mamo or mri. The path report came back with only dcis and my lymph nodes came back clear. I'm thrilled !!! I was so terrified that they might find something invasive....'

Anyway I'm 3 weeks post op and doing well, I have TE's in which are quite painful/uncomfortable at times, I wasn't really bargaining for that and I will have them in for 4 months maybe ? Anyways I can live with it given my path report. I still have to meet with a MO but according to my BS, she thinks I should be done with treatment !!

Anyways just wanted to give some hope/insight to anyone dealing with dcis
